A visit with old friends
Cuddles and I went out for our walk today,
Reaching the cemetery after a month away.
He led the last steps to the entrances gate,
I swear it seemed, he couldn't wait.
The grass fresh cut, the smell divine,
Like they were expecting us, the souls and Mama Pine.
As we waited for shade to bathe Kristi's bench,
We enjoyed the cool breeze, while the sun did us drench.
The Butterflies, Dragon Flies, and yes, mosquitos too
Flew all around us, with their versions of howdy doos.
It's so very peaceful here, it feels just right,
To pray or meditate, or in this case write.
Whether they're Angels or spirits, all around me today,
It's such a simple pleasure, to watch them frolic and play.
As this lovely pastime, today nears it's end,
Let me thank you so much, each of you, an old friend.
