We've been online buddies for 5 years and 'had a lot in common as long as we avoided talking politics. She is a senior, on SSDA and her husband is 100 military disability. She has no idea what trump is up to re: cutting programs to finance tax cuts for his buddies.
I posted a legitimate reference as to what he is up to (Russell Vought) and that seems to have opened the floodgates for her. She responded by sending me a bunch of horrid clips of Biden, etc.

I can't believe she went there just that fast Really nasty stuff.

How long can you be friendly with someone without ever mentioning anything political especially nowadays? I don't think its possible.

1. I live among Magats so I learned early on,

not to debate with them, especially using facts and reason.

I do what I call zingers. I throw something that Trump did at them and laugh and refuse to discuss it further.

4. I don't think it's possible.

I walked with a person that I considered to be a friend. Totally anti abortion, she had hers and no one else could have one. For a couple of years we walked several times a week. Me steering clear of subjects, listening to things that I let go. Finally Ohio pulled the plug on abortion. She had won and should be happy. I thought how great it was that she would stop with the abortion blather. The very first day after the election we had been on the trail only five minutes when she said some crude comment about ‘the trans’….I turned to her and said that I just couldn’t do it anymore. She had not a clue!!! It amazed me how quickly the old meme got replaced with the new. I’m so sorry about your friend. Unfortunately I don’t see things ever getting easier. The right is always waiting for the stab in the dark.
