what explains this skin sensation when it (on your torso) feels burning and freezing...

.... at the same time?
It's bizarre.
Might be related to meds?
Dunno.

Is it shingles? - I've had a couple of bouts of that, thankfully mild but it can be horrible. UTUSN Jan 18 #4

I know that my blood thinner can be responsible for itchy skin, but that doesn't explain the hot-cold feeling at the same time, and strong.

From the chicken pox virus in childhood, stays hidden for ages, then revitalizes late in life, maybe triggered by stress.

Have had 2 little bouts with it, can be HORRIBLE (not me, thank goodness).

Long story, not belaboring it here, but E.R. couldn't diagnose it with tons of tests, then 3 dots at the waist meant SHINGLES.

*** Can't be fixed ahead of time because the symptoms are mild or whatever, little lethargy/ - then it's too late: You don't know what's happening, and when it's started it's too late. Will go for weeks.
