Enjoying a Mikado tonight.

Brandy, Cointreau, amaretto, grenadine, and a dash of Angostura bitters. Shaken with ice then strained into an ice-filled Old Fashioned glass.

Yummy!

Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend…

It’s a good time to be a red wine enthusiast. 2017 is said to be one of the best years in decades for Bordeaux. And 2020 is supposed to be spectacular for Burgundies.

Tonight I’m enjoying an Oregon Pinot Noir. Their best year was 2012.

Generally speaking, they’re plummy and smooth. The really good ones have woody and vanilla notes.

The only real experiment I’ve made lately is a cocktail I call The Elvis. Equal parts peanut butter whiskey and banana liqueur. An homage to his fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

I love the Mikado! We were raised on it, and I think I have seen it on stage 6 times. I would go to any performance I could find.
