Got good news from Retinal Specialist

The abnormal blood vessels that formed under my retina have been reduced to just a small tiny bump, and so far shows no sign of regrowth. He's hopefull that today's shot will clear up the last of it. I still have to go back every six months to make sure there is no reoccurrence, but he said he thinks I may not need any more shots, as long as things continue to remain stable.

He also confirmed what my regular ophthalmologist said, that while there is evidence of cataracts developing, it's likely I won't need surgery for at least 10 more years. I am so grateful to him for making the correct diagnosis of the blood vessel growth being a result of long term severe myopia, and the treatments he gave me.

Fyi they use lenses now for cataracts so you would get closer to 20/20 afterwards.

I have had glasses since I was 10, so it will be a whole new experience not needing to wear them constantly.

The speech my specialist gave at a seminar covered a lot of issues of what happens to our eyes as we age. It's interesting he said that London is doing a lot more to educate their citizens about early intervention eye care for seniors, and researching more treatments for MD, than anywhere else.

Also he said the treatment I am now getting wasn't developed until early 2023.

I am lucky to live near a University Hospital that had the retina specialists, and my insurance covered some of the cost.
