My guess? 28

UPDATE: 9

unless the older teenager rush comes by in the next 45 minutes, this is an underperforming year.

could be less though. we never get a rush where we live.

i'll try to remember to update at 9pm

Edit: well I passed out early but my son tells me the number was 0. He never turned on the porch light, so that may have something to do with it.

Weather is pretty pleasant here. High 50s & dry. A bit windy, but it's not gale force.
It just started 8 minutes ago, and we've had 3 so far.

I never have any trick or treaters. But I always have a bowl of Reese's for them. For me.

(Note: I originally put just a 0 in the subject line and had a message that I hadn't entered a subject. Now I know.)

Absolutely no justifiable reason for this many. Will just have to eat the inventory I guess.

one of my favorites. they'll go quickly now that it's November and we don't have to give even one away to a trick and treater. which is sad in a way, but also bad in a way, and also good in a way.

Our street is a carnival on Halloween. We have sidewalks and streetlights where many areas of town do not, so people bring their kids here as it's safer. And most neighbors decorate a lot, many sit outside to welcome the kids and parents, keeping things peaceful and fun. Some of us keep dog treats handy to give to parents with dogs.

It's a rollicking party on our street. Music, laughter, good fun. No time to count, just hand over the goodies, 'ooo, ah!' over the clever costumes, and enjoy the company of families out for a nice, SAFE evening, kids and dogs included.

As an estimate, we spend about $100 on candy to give out and usually out by 8:30-9PM. We had to rent a storage room to house all the decorations we make and buy. The yard is an adventure from every angle.

Christmas presents? Not so much, at our ages, we have what we need. Just decorate, listen to music, enjoy peace. But opening the door to all the kids and parents on Halloween? Yes please!

BOO!

Very rural, so I don’t believe I will. Was gonna buy some just-in-case candy but I forgot to. If any come, I guess I could give them some AA batteries? I have a lot of those…

Doubt we will have any stopping by here at the La Quinta. We’re out of town and are tricking the neighborhood after last year running thru almost a hundred full size Hershey bars.

We’re off the beaten track, and this number equals the total number of trick or treaters we’ve had in the last 20 years. Stopped buying candy several years ago, since we certainly don’t need it.

We now live in a well lit neighborhood with some decorated houses and have young children living across the street so we expected it would be different. We probably had 20 or more Trick r Treaters and almost all were in costumes, so it was nice - except for our dog. He had never experienced a real Haloween with people coming to the house and he went bonkers! After 8pm, we turned out the lights because we couldn;t take his incessant barking. Luckily, no big kids came up late, so we were good.

We had more trick-or-treaters this year than we've ever had in all the years we've lived here. Easily more than a hundred. I lost count.

There's no unopened bags of candy for the food bank this year. We had to shut it down around 8:30.
