Using the power of positive thinking I'm not going to react to the COVID vaccine this time
Usually, about 20 hours after the shot I'm down on the couch for a day ~ fever, chills, aches & pains,,,, but I'm not going to react this time
but we have avoided getting COVID so that's good this is my 7th time getting this shot.
we can do it

(87,252 posts)The flu vaccine is the one that hits me hard. I was down and out for over 24 hours. Temp overnight was 102.6.
That's bad. I hate reacting to vaccines but I hate to get sick also.
I've never reacted to a flu vaccine, tho.
Interesting how we're all different.

(2,349 posts)I got both at the same time last year, in the same arm, and it really hurt. I felt a little rundown for a day or two. Nothing compared to the one time I got the flu... which was an absolutely dreadful week of either throwing up or feeling like I had to throw up coupled with an exhaustion I have not often felt. I had COVID once.... It was nowhere near as bad as the flu for me, fortunately. I got COVID despite getting all the vaccines and boosters available.
