First, i had to open the door
yeah, no doorman.
Then theres a woman at the front desk wanting ALL KINDS of information:
Do you have an appointment? no
Last name? -
First name? -
Have a seat. Someone will call for you shortly.
Then, BEFORE I COULD EVEN SIT DOWN AND PERUSE AN OLD MAGAZINE, my name was called!!! What nerve.
I showed my registration renewal card, the information was entered, and a total was given. Then i had to REMOVE MY CREDIT CARD FROM MY WALLET and slide it into the reader! Where has customer service gone? i swear
Then i was given my renewal sticker and HAD TO PLACE IT ON THE CAR MYSELF!!!
And now, thinking i had my ENTIRE DAY planned, i have to devise new ways to entertain myself! Hence my presence here.
i really think i oughta sue!

(7,473 posts)my visits to the Illinois DMV have been quite painless. People friendly. For the last several years I have been able to do everything online.

(I am still trying to get over the fact that the 'backwards' state of Tennessee, where I moved from, could give me my license on the same day I go to get it. Here, in the supposedly 'progressive' midwest, it takes 4-6 weeks after the visit to get it.)
Wild, eh?
