With at least a half dozen musty old (new and used) book stores in the French Quarter. I found a neat old Naval History Book I got for a shipmate which had a bunch of notes in it from previous owners. Then when the sun goes down ya get vampires and gratuitous sex. I’m told.

Up in all these “lists”. It’s an ok town. But, it’s not “all that”. Ok to visit. Horrible to live there.
I imagine someone is paying their way onto these lists.

I found 2 books there for reference on the operating system of an IBM mainframe. "So what?" you say? Try your local bookstore to see if they can order something like that - they probably don't even include that publisher in their database. And there really isn't much call for it, and that makes such a small printing edition and a book like that will run hundreds of dollars new. College textbooks are cheaper. I got both the books for around $15 ~ $20 each used.

This was over 20 years ago, so the stores probably aren't there any more.
