Those are tenacious animals, very hard to catch. He would go out at night and return before dawn, sometimes after a few days. It took a couple months to catch him with humane traps. He was then transported out into the country; he would have just gone back up into my attic otherwise. What an ordeal! But there are laws around transporting them due to rabies and whatnot (I hired a wildlife control company). It's actually easier to kill a nuisance animal from a legal perspective.

I actually fell over one of them, skipping down the apartment outside stairs at 0200 AM......he was at the bottom and we both ended up sprawled and he ran off - I was very lucky I didn't get bitten! I live in a metroplex yet there are critters everywhere!
