First, Clapton has created some great songs to the musical canon.

Second, your co-worker is musically ignorant.

Last point, creators aren’t necessarily good people.

Teaching guitar in the EIGHTIES, I was introducing myself to a new student. At some point I mentioned we would be doing some Beatles tunes, and he asked, "What's a "Beatles"?
If we even had a second lesson, I don't remember it.

6. I Think You'll Like This

First, I have developed a solo 12 string acoustic version of Let It Rain, using some pretty jazzy chords. I'm having fun playing it.
Second, that opening riff of the song drove guitar players nuts for years. No matter how they played it, no matter what guitar they used, no matter how they set the amp, they couldn't reproduce that sound.
Then, we found out why. In the studio, the guitars aren't playing chords.
There are 4 separate guitars, each playing a single note of the chord so there is no phase interaction between the stings.
No matter what a single guitar player does, there's no way to eliminate that interaction.
Even with me playing it on acoustic 12 string, it still doesn't sound just like the record. It's literally impossible.
No wonder it made guitarists crazy!

His playing on many songs on the Layla album is exceptional.
He is masterfully smooth in his playing, which is a skill in & of itself.
He is a giant of guitar, for good reason.
I have to compartmentalize his music from his personal shortcomings, though.

from you.

Stupid, simplistic lyrics from a man with nothing to say. Enjoy your music.

Stand tall for what you believe in ... Eric Clapton. LOL!

Had the medalist's mom's birthday on them; she was born on his birthday - 5 years later. The medalist was about 26, maybe 27...

He felt sooo old.

I was on the phone with a young nurse at my primary care office talking about pre appointment fasting for my next month's appointment.

When we finished she said, "OK. See you in September." I said, "Like the song." She had no idea what I meant so I just said, "Never mind. It was before your time."

Sounds like the receptionist was purchased in a medical supplies store.
My apologies to those in the medical field who actually enjoy interacting with mere earthlings, keep up the good work!

... he decided to take a walk outside and look at the houses (the area had some nice architecture). Some Karen-before-there-were-Karens saw him walking in her neighborhood and called the cops. They jacked him up (for walking, go figger), and he didn't have any ID with him. They didn't know who the hell he was, he had to persuade them to take him to his hotel and prove he was legit and not some scruffy intruder who might lower property values.
