(530 posts)about the mid 80s, It was in my Dodge, Ramcharger.
Mine was a National which included AM, FM, SW and LW.
Never heard anything on Long Wave, SW picked up the usual stuff like Radio Moscow, Radio Habana Cuba and HCJB.

(3,031 posts)Edit: I have an ATS Amp model touchscreen radio that works well for listening and a Malichite DSP SDR V5 touchscreen that is my favorite. The Malichite (clone of Malihit) Noise Reduction setting is phenomenal and the live (or near live) band scan lets you zero in on random conversations....
2nd Edit: I also have two of the inexpensive RTL-SDR Blog USB dongles that I intend to use with free Windows software as a police/EMS scanner for local trunked systems (some are now encrypted but many are not). I haven't got this set up yet...plans in my retired mind anyway...
