Piss off, OneDrive!

I HATE when my laptop sends downloads to OneDrive. I constantly have to watch for that! And I got a message the other day telling me I'm over my usage limit. Ha! I've never once intentionally sent anything there. Just go away!

no Edge, no OneDrive, no nothing but the operating system...watch this video.

I almost didn't post because this gets rather technical, and maybe over most of our heads, but it may be of use to some.

OR...maybe you could kidnap that damn niece/nephew/grandkid that you give $20 to EVERY DAMN BIRTHDAY AND CHRISTMAS but you never get a "thank you" and make them do it for you!

I think it would be beyond my level of expertise. I was once the go-to tech fix-it guy in my family, but that was 15-20 years ago. I now rely on my niece for things the increasing number of computer-related things that I just cannot figure out.

have you been giving xmas/b-day gifts to her?

Like you, I was the go-to tech fix-it guy in the family till I FINALLY had to say "I knew how 20 YEARS AGO!!! I can't do it any more!"

so while my wife and I cannot expect her to look after us into our golden years, we can lean on her for tech support.

That said, YouTube videos, like the one you posted, can show a layperson who to accomplish so many things of their own these days.

at least not not as 'primary', or default, or on an opt-out sort of set up.

And it does actually get written locally first. It might get discarded locally as it ages out due to not being accessed, appearing with the cloud indicator in explorer.

The other nice feature is that your user profile and its data is all portable and can be accessed from any windows computer you logon to with the same (Microsoft) I’d.

But yes The management interface isn’t great.

He jumped in there and tried his best to make his own film, and ended up proving that adapting a King novel into a single movie is just impossible. Plus, this film is not all that great. I am a huge King fan, but the movies made from his books are hit and miss. They usually work better as 'based on' stories rather than actual attempts to do the book as a film.

Remember this?

(I love you to death Stephen, but you didn't scare anyone.)

They have made a film from one of the stories in it.

'The Running Man'.

'Different Seasons' was another great collection. We got three of the four stories made in that one.

'Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption', 'Apt Pupil', and 'Stand By Me'

'Creepshow' was great. I am a huge horror fan and have been since I was very little.

"Just tell it to call you 'Billy'!" LOL.

When you sign into your computer do you sign in with a Microsoft account?

Are you using Microsoft 365?

You can turn off One drive launching at startup.

Go to Settings-Apps-Startup
Scroll to Microsoft OneDrive and toggle off.
You might have to do that again after certain updates when Microsoft will automatically reverrt some software to default settings.
