Cracked cans are a real problem. I had one recently that had this flush joint all the way down the side. When they hot filled it, the contents sputtered slightly all over the side. I conclude all of us should remove labels before opening cans to look for leaks. If it leaks, toss it!!! There are food poisonings that cannot be cooked away - botulism I think. It would have to be steamed at about 280 degrees Fahrenheit for a long time.

When in doubt, throw it out.

I suppose you could return the can to the store as well, with the label and point out the leaks.

Don't sell it on eBay. You could get sued.
