What's your favorite bourbon? I like Buffalo Trace a lot, but discovered a local one here in Pennsylvania. Called Hazard's. It's pretty smooth.

(39,661 posts)On the balcony of the Tropical Isle corner of Bourbon and Orleans sipping a Bud Draft, enjoying the jazz tunes wafting from the musicians down below, always being blown away by the incredible architecture seen in every direction, watching the spooky shadows at the back of St Louis Cathedral down Orleans Street, enjoying humanity strolling along heading for a nights adventure.
Bourbon Street. Quite intoxicating.

(497 posts)Ezra Brooks is my favorite.
I like it's price-to-palate ratio. Though lately my local purveyor only has the premium options Old Ezra and one other that I forget the name. They no longer stock the run of the mill (still?) version.
Probably a marketing plot, age it a couple of extra years and double the price...

(17,719 posts)With meds I can only have about an inch of wine, and probably less of hard liquor vs the years before that.
I still can have some flavoring - there was a fun food hall restaurant that served a crispy bourbon chicken. Yum.
And there's Bourbon Vanilla Bean Truffle Ice Cream SPIRITS (chocolate truffles).Sooo tasty!
I didn't know that bourbon was a whiskey - I really dislike the taste of most hard liquors. Bourbon has enough corn (must be at least 51% usually around 70%) that has enough natural sweetness that I like it.
It was interesting to find that out.
