Opinion - The 2024 election exposed Republicans' worst weakness

(The Hill) The dust has settled on the 2024 election, and Republicans remain gleeful about their opponents’ struggles. One source of Republican glee is the now-infamous financial mismanagement of the Kamala Harris presidential campaign.

In just 15 weeks, the Harris-Walz campaign burned through $1.5 billion, only to lose convincingly in seven out of seven battlegrounds. From glitzy fundraisers to millions of dollars on a single celebrity endorsement, the Harris spending spree was historic for all the wrong reasons, and more details are emerging by the week that will live in infamy long after election 2024.

Democrats are now left wondering how they became “the party of the elites,” to quote The New Yorker. Republicans, on the other hand, can celebrate a Trump campaign that was drastically outspent but outperformed Harris in every single battleground state.

Fix news and the Murdoch family literally paid a BILLION dollars in contributions in kind just on court settlements. Not to mention the hundreds of millions of free advertising for 9 years.

Apartheid Clyde tanked billions on making Twitter a right wing night job.

Then you have Zuckerberg and meta...

Other tech bros

I could go on. But there is no way the Dems outspent them.

6. It's called four years of media coverage of every burp and fart the man made, along with everything else while Biden had

to call press conferences to get any coverage at all.

It's also called four years of insistence at every turn that the 2020 election was stolen from him, which did two things. One, it neutralized any possible claim Democrats could make to accuse Trump of cheating, even though there were multiple indications that he cheated in all seven battleground states. Two, it gave Republicans all of the possible ways they could cheat and calculate how to get just enough of a vote count to win.

Harris did not come close to outspending Trump, who got $250 million from one single contributor. The billionaire money and influence, the round the clock constant news coverage on every network, and the cheating along the margins produced the most razor thin margin for Trump. Using the term "now infamous financial mismanagement" is right wing propaganda that should not appear on this message board.
