Welcome to the literary intifada

"Literary intifada? Isn’t that a little strong?”

Perhaps. But, pay attention to what is going on in the literary world.

Recently, an employee at an independent bookstore in Brooklyn cancelled a book event with Joshua Leifer and Rabbi Andy Bachman, because “we don’t want a Zionist onstage.” The bookstore apologized for its employee’s unauthorized action and rescheduled the event.

And now, it’s about the French intellectual Bernard-Henri Lévy, one of the preeminent thinkers of our time — affectionately known by his initials, BHL.

I am not surprised.

The people who fill these spaces, people who believe that their gifts of prose also bestow upon them moral superiority, are full of shit.

We live in an upside down inside out world where banishment of Jews is now viewed as an act of virtue.

These acts of exclusion are no different than every “No Jews Allowed” sign hung in every doorway in pre-WWII Europe. It is no different from when every Jewish author, artisan, professor, and any other professional were banished from the spaces in which they once flourished.

The disgraceful authors who signed onto this fraud called ‘The Literary Intifada” are not only bringing harm to Jewish and Israeli authors. They are bringing harm to the literary world by depriving people of learning of the books written by these writers, books that could bring knowledge and joy. These fake social justice warriors have also told the world who they are. They are the new Nazis.

BTW, for anyone interested, Bernard Henri Levy is an engaging author. His book is a sad testimony to the hateful world we live in. His book also makes it clear that whether people are willing to learn the truth about who they are or not, it is about the Jew hate.

infringe freedom of the press.

What do we call that kind of activity? Not just "antisemitic"; there's a broader term for trying to ban books.
