The US Secret Service did not retrieve the radios that were set aside for them by Butler County tactical command.

Congressman Clay Higgins (R-Louisiana) travelled to the PA farm show site. He recently (Aug. 15, 2024) released a report he wrote for the chair of the committee he's on.

https://clayhiggins.house.gov/2024/08/15/higgins-releases-preliminary-investigative-report/

Link to BBC article on MSN, that had me google the report itself.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/sniper-shot-trump-gunmans-weapon-and-delayed-him-report/ar-AA1oV4eZ?ocid=BingNewsVerp

I read the BBC report--and the Higgins report itself-- and found the following to be interesting.

The US Secret Service did not retrieve the radios that were set aside for them by Butler County tactical command. That's suspicious in many ways.

The 9th shot fired on July 13 was from a Butler SWAT operator from the ground, about 100 yards away from the AGR building. This shot hit Crooks’ pew pew stock (I don't want to use the g-word, as I try to follow the rules very carefully on this fine forum). The pew pew stock broke up fragments grazed Crooks' face/neck/right shoulder.

The FBI released the body for cremation 10 days after July 13, so July 23.

Along with the cremation, the GOP Congressman is upset with the FBI because:
1) The FBI cleaned up the biological evidence from the crime scene.
2) The FBI released the crime scene itself after 3 days.
The GOP Congressman alleges that the FBI was obstructing the investigation.

The FBI claps back at Higgins' suggestion that FBI was obstructing:

The secret service not picking up the radios was a huge mistake.
Had the secret service picked up the radios, as they were reminded to do, they would have heard the chatter about a guy on a roof running. They could have swept that Russian asset off the stage before shots rang out.

But then, the puppet would not have gotten his picture taken.

Communication failed, which was not the fault of the locals. Bad communication, no local radios, and spotty cell service foiled attempts to stop the shooter.

Not in the report, but body cam footage of the cop--who hoisted himself onto the roof before Crooks fired bullets from his pew pew--had the cop swearing. The cop was swearing something like “I told them to put snipers back here when I met with the SS on Tuesday. I told them so.” Paraphrased.

The secret service said they would put snipers there, but oops, the secret service didn’t put anybody on the roof.

P.S. I hate how the GOP/fascists are calling it J13. They are doing this on purpose, to deflect from J6 insurrection. In his report, Higgins doesn't note any of the August dates as A15 or A12. But he does NOT write out J12, J23, etc.

... rather than try to throw blame on the local authorities?

As I understand it, Chump is still hand-picking the security team that surrounds him even 4 years after leaving the White House. Like everything else he chooses people not for their training and abilities, but for their willingness to smooch his ass.

The excuse given was that Biden is not traveling as much. It seems better to me to thoroughly protect the current president of the United States, who has the job for another five months, than to surround one campaigner with so many agents.

Where do they get off, deciding that a former president is more urgently in need of protection than the current president?

What if this had happened in 2019 or 2020, and what if they had put more agents on Obama and left Chump with less protection? We can imagine the uproar that would have caused.

For instance, here (in congressional hearings!) testifying on the evidence of 'ghost buses', supposedly filled with 'FBI informants dressed as Trump supporters' ... And it pretty much goes straight downhill from there ...

https://www.jefftiedrich.com/p/sporky-and-the-space-nazi-get-screwed

And my point being - we're using this cat as a creditable source ??

( The assassination attempt is fast morphing into our latest conspiracy bug. The only trouble is - we are so utterly steeped in conspiracy bugaboo these days ... It's hard to tell one one leaves off, and another picks up. But let's try to do just a little better here on DU? )

is the armed cop who hoisted himself up, saw an obviously unauthorized man with a gun, then lowered himself down because according to his statement he feared for his safety but supposedly he doesn't get blame for not trying to stop him/shoot him? Why give these guys guns then if all they are is recon and run? I understand being afraid for your life but taking action to remove a threat even in the face of personal danger is what you signed up for. He could have engaged the guy and even if he had missed the sound of gunfire would have raised the alarm and gotten action faster than bitching on the radio.

What I had heard is he had boosted up using both of his arms to see what was going on so could not physically grab his gun at that moment as he was hanging from the roof with both arms and they did not have a ladder

They never got the radios that were issued so they could communicate with the local authorities.

It sounds like the local cop did his job when he reported it, and they didn't follow through.

So since it was a white guy with a gun there was no sense of urgency.

Now, if it had been a black man with a rifle, or even a black child with a toy rifle, or a black man who admitted to having a handgun in a glove compartment, or an elderly black woman near a pot of boiling water…

That’s grounds for summary execution.

[Only being half sarcastic, unfortunately]

Higgins expounded. "These (ghost) buses are nefarious in nature and were filled with FBI informants dressed as Trump supporters, deployed onto our Capitol on Jan. 6," Higgins said.

His Wikipedia page says he's appeared and spoken at events organized by groups such as the Three Percenters and the Oath Keepers.

The report he submitted was for the House Bi-Partisan Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Former Pres. DT.

Democrats on the committee:
Jason Crow CO Ranking member
Lou Correa CA (I like this guy, sharp, from what little I've seen)
Madeleine Dean PA
Chrissy Houlahan PA
Glen Ivey Maryland
Jared Moskowitz Fla.

Douche bags on the committee:
Mike Kelly PA chair
Mark Green TN
David Joyce Ohio
Laurel Lee Floriduh
Mike Walta Floriduh
Clay Higgins Louisiana
Pat Fallon TX

The Final Report is to be released Dec. 13, 2024

Why is clay such a whiner? He is no pathologist, doctor. He was a used car salesman. What could he possibly add to the discussion by viewing the dead body? Ghoul.
