Elon Musks PAC Misleads People In Swing States Into Thinking Theyve Registered To Vote: Report
A political action fund backed by billionaire right-wing CEO Elon Musk called America PAC has launched a new ad campaign that purports to encourage people to vote. However, according to a new report from CNBC, people in swing states are not actually directed toward a place to register to vote.
Instead, viewers are asked for their valuable personal information, such as their address, cell phone number and age. People in states that are not viewed as competitive are directed quickly to a voter registration page for their state, or back to the original sign-up section, CNBC reported.
Musk came out in favor of Trump months ago, and frequently writes posts in support of the former president.
The ads reportedly feature video of the assassination attempt on Trump. A text exchange between two men reads, You need to vote. The other says, This is out of control. How do I start? The ad then displays a link to America PAC.
