"What Do You Do with a Failed Coup?"

The media thought that they could take Biden down, but it’s becoming clear that he’s not stepping down just because armies of polyamorous, Brooklyn-dwelling sub-editors have soured on him. The question now is: In the wake of their failed coup attempt, how will the media go back to shilling for Biden? It seems like an impossible pivot, but somehow I’m confident that the same lying, dog-faced pony soldiers who told us the president was as sharp as a tack will return to business as usual. That is to say, after a brief hiatus, they will go back to promoting the perceived interests of the Democratic Party, hoping that voters forget all the mean things they said about Joe Biden during the brief, heady days when it looked like the coup was on.

Sadly, I doubt this will be the case.

Biden is a seasoned professional, and among other things, that means that you do not abuse the powers of the office. Because of this, the news media can say or do anything to Biden without fearing any consequences.

Trump, on the other hand, will engage in a vendetta against his enemies, including those in the media, for any perceived slight, and will do it on the flimsiest excuse. This means that media companies see no downside to criticizing Biden, and no upside in criticizing Trump. This is straight out of the mafia playbook - racketeering 101.

done to Joe Biden over a bad debate performance.

I won't forget, either, that Joy Reid and Lawrence O'Donnell stayed the course and didn't fall for the bullshit.

I mean, really: How fucking stupid can you be to think, AFTER THE PRIMARY, we can just BOOM! stick a different candidate into the slot for PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES with 3 months to go before people start early voting in some states?

When everything was on the line these people failed miserably. No walking that back for me.

The tone is insufferable and the excerpt contains right wing talking points

- how will the media go back to shilling for Biden
- after a brief hiatus, [the media] will go back to promoting the perceived interests of the Democratic Party
