I know a few of them. I may be sitting in a room with one of them right now. They’re uneducated and cannot think critically. The one sitting across from me right now has suffered a severe TBI and spent months in a coma in addition to being a life-long illicit drug addict.

They have Facebook and YouTube feeds that they watch all day long spouting crap from people like Terrence Howard (whom until a couple of days ago didn’t realize was a legitimate kook who decided he could reinvent math, physics, astronomy and science), but that’s how these people live. This is an education for me.


They watch random people’s interpretations of everything from science to religion and they go doomsday crazy. It’s nuts and an eye-opener to me: it’s the descent of current civilization. They find this shit on YouTube and Facebook and eat it up. They’ll believe anything that they feel gives them an iota of advantage over people with defensibly and legitimately pedigreed educations so they can have a shim into an argument or opinion, no matter how indefensible it is, and then they go straight to either Jesus, Satan or demons when you propose a logical defense. It’s like they want to fight about it.

When you go to college and earn your pedigree, that college must be legitimately accredited in the rigor of its curriculum and pedagogy: YouTube and Facebook are free and feel-good, replete with no-name idiots spewing absolute garbage that I can smack-down in 4 words or less usually. But they don’t want to hear it. Jesus this, the Bible that.

And here’s the problem I propose, culturally: Ads. I’m not sure all of the people spouting this absolute crap (think Joe Rogan) really believe what they’re saying. I’m really onto the idea that lots, if not all, of these “bloggers” know exactly what they’re doing and that’s generating ad revenue by exploiting stupidity for their monetary benefit.


And that’s it. It’s about money. And YouTube and Facebook are exploiting the psychosis. It doesn’t help that many of these people are predisposed to such endeavors. It’s simply fucking tragic.

Full disclosure: I do like to watch Nova and Nature specials, along with SNL re-runs on YouTube, also I like to watch posters like Everyday Astronaut (despite he’s a Musky), Agent JayZ (who rebuilds jet turbines), Cosmos and a bunch of fun comedy stuff that helps me get to sleep at night. I also like watching documentaries and rocket launches.

MTG is one of these legit nutjobs, just like they all are, and, from my current experience, I think they should be drug tested weekly.

But free speech. I can’t give that up so I have to give it to them.

Shit, man, watch a baseball game or a car-rebuilding show for entertainment rather than some misogynistic religious zealot who is literally dependent on ad revenue for his next meal because he can’t pass a drug test to be a dishwasher at the neighborhood bar.

That is literally what I’m experiencing right now. I thought my two undergraduate degrees, my masters and my doctorate gave me an education, but no - this is an education.
