Mike Johnson's Defense of Jack Smith Sparks Renewed MAGA Outrage
Supporters of the MAGA movement expressed renewed outage this week over House Speaker Mike Johnson's defense of Special Counsel Jack Smith.
"I triggered my Motion to Vacate yesterday because Mike Johnson refused to commit to defunding Special Council Jack Smith. Now, he's not just saying he won't defund it, he's promising to PROTECT it," Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday. "If the Democrats saving Mike Johnson's Speakership didn't convince you he's, in fact, their Speaker of the House, this should!"
Greene's post was in response to Johnson's recent remarks about Republican efforts to defund Special Counsel Smith amid his investigations into former President Donald Trump.

When further asked if he has any plans to add language to future appropriation bills that remove Smith's job, Johnson said, "No," Politico reported.

OP
I thought SC funding was part of DOJ funding, not separate itens. How does that work?

Anyone know?
Also how to shutdown MTG. What a pain in the ass. Apparently bucking for the speaker's gavel herself.

Don't forget, rethugs only talk about spending. They won't spend anything during Democratic administrations unless they're coerced to avoid a larger shutdown. Their job (defined by their owner/donors) is keep a chokehold on rule-of-law government when Dems are in office, then to destroy rule-of-law govt when they're in office.

CounTcil, like ConTstitution, ConTference, JonTSon. And probably like she prononnces her voters, C**Tstituents. Always a hard T after the first syllable. She is the epitome of a stupid trump humper. The poster child. Also a bomb planter.

(37,670 posts)3. Well, DUH, mtg. You think they'd support YOU as their speaker? They don't even support your voice.
Johnson stepped up because your incompetence as a voice for the party reveals nothing but tear-down politics and threat.
