Trump's Jaw-Dropping Secret Threat to U.S. Ally Is Leaked

Source: Daily Beast

Towards the end of his tenure, Trudeau, who was replaced as PM by Mark Carney in March last year, faced sinister threats from Trump in private phone calls, according to two people familiar with the matter who spoke to the Wall Street Journal.

In one call, Trump reportedly straight-up threatened to nix a 118-year-old agreement that helped pin down and officially mark parts of the U.S.-Canada border on maps and on the ground.

In April 1908, the Boundary Convention was signed by the United States and the United Kingdom, which at the time handled Canada’s foreign affairs because Canada was a self-governing British Dominion.

Trump didn’t care for its history, reportedly telling Trudeau, “I tear that up, and your whole country unravels.”

They are unlawful cur dogs who just aim for the target, and ignore everything that gets in their way.

We will have to pay for this approach, because uncivilized methods have consequences.

It wasn't that he ran and lost to Carney, it was that Trudeau declined to run for re-election.

It was never really explained why, and now we know. He hates Chump so much (after receiving these mob-boss threats) that he just backed away from politics altogether.

and the Cons numbers were skyrocketing, that's why he didn't run again and Carney was elected by the Liberal party to replace him and, therefore, become the PM and run in the next election.

Trudeau did not quit because of threats, he resigned because he knew he would lose if he ran again.

and wanted our politicians to stand up to him, Trudeau's leaving was an internal issue, his popularity had plummeted due to his own actions and what was seen as a growing arrogance. The polls were very clear, if Trudeau ran again, the Liberals would lose to the Cons and PP.

I agree Trump was envious of Trudeau, that was very apparent but that had little to no affect on whether Trudeau stayed or resigned

Unfortunately, I am not a normal human being. I cannot help but point out that you accidentally wrote "your" instead of "you're."

Homonyms can get the better of all of us, from time to time. Fortunately, this wonderful site allows us to edit our posts.

on your assertion between you're (you are) and your.

And you made someone dance to your tune regardless. And i think you mean "homophones".

My assertion wasn't mistaken. The poster has since edited his post. Originally, he had the wrong spelling.

I agree that my compulsion to point out the error isn't a positive thing. That is why I wrote, in good humor, "unfortunately, I am not a normal person." The goal was the make the exchange all in good fun. In any event, ToxMarz liked my post, so all is well.

There are two types of homonyms: homophones (same sound, different spelling) and homographs (same spelling, different sound). Your and you're, the words in question, can be correctly described as either homophones or homonyms.
