Before you do stuff like that. Bad move on his part.

Unfortunately for him, this is probably an easy win for the prosecution and will likely lead to a dismissal.

Taking orders from a corrupt and criminal commander is colluding in crime. I feel complicit as a law abiding taxpayer. We have murdered people in fishing boats and children in schools and asylum-seekers in concentration camps and ordinary citizens at protests. Our government is us.

This officer is standing for us.

As long as Americans have their beer, football and other mind-numbing pursuits, they just don't care if fascists take over.

But I am gathering with a group of demonstrators in some withering heat shortly to at least make some noise. I have met some grand people on the front.

He was actually not arrested for calling for impeachment while in the service and in uniform. He was arrested as a planned arrest for being in an area that was closed to the public after giving his remarks. I am sure that the Air Force will investigate, but if I were to guess, he may have been charged with failure to obey an official order or something of the sort. He was with a Member of Congress and when the Congressman left, he was no longer allowed to be where he was.

My comments were not to diminish his actions as they are principled and will cost him significantly.

... but the clickbait-y headlines and thumbnails do not present a true picture of what and how things happened.

In any case, he was very courageous. I admire him. I hope he has investments, or a wealthy spouse, family property... or something... because it seems unlikely that he'll be able to depend on a military retirement check or medical benefits.

about "DoN't WeAr a UnIfOrM iF yOu'Re GoNnA pRoTeSt" proceeds on the assumption that our institutions are still intact.

They are not.

This is a brave man, not a coward.

There are too many cowards.

I remember the typewriter department at Montgomery Wards.

You'd inevitably see a test piece of paper in a typewriter that read: "NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD MEN (that's how people wrote 50 years ago) TO COME TO THE AID OF THEIR COUNTRY" or something like that.
