Jeffries: 'We are seeing the beginning of an all-out war in the Middle East'

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on Monday said President Trump has launched an “all-out war” in the Middle East after a series of strikes on Iran over the weekend.
Jeffries and other Democrats have remained unsupportive of the attacks, questioning the military strategy in the region given past tensions and alleging Trump’s actions are illegal as Congress has not granted permission for the U.S. to go to war with Iran.
During an appearance on CNN’s “News Central,” Kate Bolduan asked Jeffries if he would support bombings in Iran if they were limited to striking the country’s missiles, missile launchers, and its missile manufacturing capability.
“Well, that remains to be seen whether it’s to be limited or not. I don’t even understand the justification for what is taking place,” Jeffries responded. “What we do know is we’re seeing the beginning of an all-out war in the Middle East at the same period of time where Donald Trump and his administration, and Republicans, have cut more than a trillion dollars from Medicaid,” he added.
