Stealth is not about what the human eye can see. Obviously, if the plane is nearby, you can see it, ugly or not. Stealth is about RADAR signature.

And that distinction is why the Pentagon is so reluctant to use these very expensive stealth aircraft in many missions. But when you need stealth, you REALLY need it.
