Trump's inauguration will be coldest in decades

Source: ABC News

January 16, 2025, 10:40 AM

President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration on Monday is forecast to be the coldest in 40 years. An arctic front will pass by Washington, D.C., on Sunday night and winds will pick up out of the northwest, ushering in arctic air.

Monday's temperature will be at its highest -- about 25 degrees -- when the clock strikes Inauguration Day at midnight. Throughout the course of the day, the temperature will slowly fall.

When Trump is sworn in at noon, the temperature will be about 18 or 19 degrees. Due to the wind, the wind chill -- what temperature it feels like -- will be between 5 and 10 degrees. By 7 p.m., when the inauguration balls begin, the temperature will be near 13 degrees with a wind chill of minus 1.

The coldest January Inauguration Day on record was 1985 for President Ronald Reagan's second inauguration.

As the northern polar ice caps continue to melt because of our warming planet, gravity is pulling all of the melting mess southward which is blocking the warmer water currents from coming up from the south to moderate the temperature.

As the polar ice caps continue to melt, gravity is pulling all of that polar ice cap melt southward and that's blocking the warmer water currents from coming up from the south that moderate the temperatures. My father was an engineer so the issue of climate change was part of my childhood.

Thermal currents of course are going to change. And we are going to get plenty of surprises that have not even been put in the climate change model.

Yes it will be bitterly cold. But it was pretty damn cold for the first Obama inauguration: mid 20's, with winds gusting to 20-25 mph, and wind chill temps in the teens. Not as cold as what's coming, but still quite cold. And the crowd was awesome. I don't think Trump's crowd will top Obama's but i also think that would be the case no matter what the weather.

That being said, I'm not sad in the least that Trump's crowd will be shivering.

…..for Trumps demise sometime later this month. The Wiki article mentions cold-like symptoms, fatigue, mental anxiety, a severe chill, a mustard plaster, a laxative, severe pain, bloodletting, low pulse rate, heated cups, castor oil, vomiting, pneumonia, laudanum, opium, camphor, wine, brandy, severe diarrhea, delirium, septic shock and enteric fever. This all in the ten days between the inauguration and his death. I’d be satisfied with something similar for Trump, but with more pain and let’s say ninety days.
