Stephen King Reacts to Donald Trump's Election Victory

Source: Newsweek

Published Nov 06, 2024 at 9:16 AM EST

Author Stephen King has responded to Donald Trump's presidential election victory by sharing a social media post about the fragility of democracy.

Hours after polled closed on Tuesday, Trump was declared the winner of several battleground states. CNN had declared him the victor in Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Trump's win in Wisconsin took him over the finish line past the 270 Electoral College votes required to secure his path to the White House.

Arizona, Michigan, and Nevada remained too close to call, though Trump held leads over Vice President Kamala Harris in each of those states. Two Electoral College votes also remain to be awarded in Maine. As news of Trump's victory made headlines and trended on social media, horror writer King, who is a frequent critic of the former president, shared a post of his own.

Without directly naming Trump, King wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "There's a sign you can see in many shops that sell beautiful but fragile items: LOVELY TO LOOK AT, DELIGHTFUL TO HOLD, BUT ONCE YOU BREAK IT, THEN IT'S SOLD. You can say the same about democracy."

You break it, you buy it.
No mention of dresses, unless I'm missing something.

Not to mention foreign countries ruled by brutal dictators. It's their's now, and they're going to have a "Going Out of Business" sale beginning in January 2025. The government has been sold, and it will be split up and given to the capitalists who supported 💩.

They will destroy everyone and everything to get their money fix.
Nothing else matters.

Owning a trillion dollars still won't be enough for them.

And yes they believe everything belongs to them.
Like Putin, Trump, etc.

Everything is theirs for the taking.

We will be getting an up close and personal view of psychopaths in action.

He and his puppet master PUtin are out to destroy us and that's exactly what he intends to do. Democracy and America or even Americans mean zip, nada, zilch to him. He's destroying us on purpose at the orders of the master and he will not stop until we are total vasals to Russia and the citizens are so poor we can;t buy food - just like there.
