Alex is a killer guitarist. If youre not into heavy/thrash metal, he has his own side project; a Jazz band called the Alex Skolnick Trio.

(2,280 posts)Didn't realize he had gotten this political. Good guy, great musician. His book was really good on a "human level" talking about his issues through life. Its over ten years old at this point but it was a good read. Literally finished it Friday.

(2,280 posts)Before Alex, I finished Darius Rucker, Steve Gorman(Black Crowes drummer), Stevie Van Zandt(one of the best books I have read), Bruce Dickinson and a few others. I'm on Sammy Hagar and have Scott Ian to go. I'll consider "Desolation" once I finish those.
Thanks!

(2,280 posts)Due to the fact that he is British and uses a lot of slang that I was not exactly familiar with. That combined with the fact that he grew up in England made it little hard to relate to. Otherwise, he is an interesting person and tells some good stories. Its mostly about him rather than Maiden.
