Vance says false claim he spread against Haitian migrants may not be true but urges followers to keep posting 'cat memes

Source: CNN

Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance acknowledged Tuesday that it’s possible the false claim that Haitian immigrants are abducting the pets of Springfield, Ohio, residents might not be true, but he encouraged his followers to continue posting “cat memes.”

“In the last several weeks, my office has received many inquiries from actual residents of Springfield who’ve said their neighbors’ pets or local wildlife were abducted by Haitian migrants. It’s possible, of course, that all of these rumors will turn out to be false,” Vance posted on X

“Do you know what’s confirmed? That a child was murdered by a Haitian migrant who had no right to be here,” Vance continued, also pointing to the impact migration has had on health and education services.

Vance appeared to be referring to an incident last year in which an 11-year-old child was killed in a bus crash in Springfield involving a Haitian immigrant driver who had a foreign license that was not valid in Ohio, as reported by The New York Times. The driver involved has been convicted of first-degree felony involuntary manslaughter and fourth-degree felony vehicular homicide, according to the Springfield News-Sun.

Conspiracy theories don't have to be true, they just have to work.

I've always wondered, work to do what? Now I know.

Justice matters.

Peaceful, normal people who left Haiti's violence and chaos to rebuild a better life in Springfield, OH, are now, as we speak, targets of hundreds of death threats on social media from the neo-nazi magats because of that crazy made up racist BS!

Same old tired playbook

Like him, we know this is false, and like him we'll get some mileage out of it.

And as I've said in other posts about Vance, fuck him. Sideways.

All the couch sex meme did was make fun of the kind of guy so many people think JD Vance is (it wouldn't have worked with a lot of other men). And he's a public figure, whose personality is a subject of public discussion and interest. But it obviously has hurt him so deeply that he's determined to make someone else suffer - and he sees political advantage in playing to his racist base, too, while not caring about the consequences if one of them attacks an immigrant (or US-born citizen who has the "wrong" shade of skin) as a result.

I agree 100% with your comments about the outcome of these statements - except that us poking fun at him causes him to make other suffer.

His injuries come from his parents and his upbringing. An absentee father, piss poor substitutes, and a mother with a history of prescription drug addiction (which he's since blamed on illegal immigrants who brought drugs to the US) all scarred him deeply and made him the monster he is today.

Give a pisspot like Vance a bit of power and it's the same rush as the first jab of heroin. He needs this and will do or say anything to get it - regardless of who gets hurt in the process. Kind of like his mother stealing drugs from patients to support her habit.
