The Kamala Harris campaign has warned Donald Trump will rule like a dictator if reelected after the GOP presidential nominee said he would jail those involved in unscrupulous behavior during this years election. Just days before his presidential debate with Harris, Trump went on his Truth Social site Saturday to continue his attempts to undermine the integrity of this years vote, having previously avoided questions on whether hed accept the results of Novembers election. In his posts, Trump baselessly accused Democrats of rampant Cheating and Skullduggery during the 2020 contest and warned the 2024 race will be under the closest professional scrutiny.
WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, which will include long term prison sentences so that this Depravity of Justice does not happen again, Trump wrote. Please beware that this legal exposure extends to Lawyers, Political Operatives, Donors, Illegal Voters, & Corrupt Election Officials, he added. Those involved in unscrupulous behavior will be sought out, caught, and prosecuted at levels, unfortunately, never seen before in our Country.
On Monday, Harris-Walz campaign spokesperson Ammar Moussa responded to Trumps comments. As we head into the debate, an extreme and unhinged Donald Trump is further ratcheting up his dangerous threats of revenge and retribution, Moussa said in a statement.
Aided by his Supreme Court justices that gave him virtually unlimited immunity, and his Project 2025 allies who wrote the playbook to give Trump virtually limitless, unchecked power, Trump is openly laying out how he will try to rule as a dictator on day one to go after his political enemies. Another thing is clear: For Donald Trump, its all about himself, the statement continued, adding that Trump was on a self-obsessed revenge tour.

(1,542 posts)Make exercise of voting rights by those believed especially likely to have the good judgement, sense, and spirit of human kindness to likely vote for Anyone But Trump. It's the same party that has been cheating for years now, only recently increasingly in public where we can see it every day.
The projection of their own deviancy and criminality is starkly amazing. Close behind is the cowardice and greed of the NYT, WaPo, Politico, et al, apparently preventing them from engaging in journalism or any balanced reporting.

(14,115 posts)They even continue to prop him up. After his usual meaningless word-salad answers to even the simplest question, they will report not what he said but, rather, what they want you to think he said (i.e., they make up a coherent answer when he said no such thing.)

(184 posts)Since Joe Biden is President and the President has imperial power, maybe Joe should make sure that Trump and his MAGA followers do not alter election results. The sitting President should use his power to ensure that all votes are counted and none are blocked. And also ensure that the electors are properly counted and that Kamala is officially named President elect and then inaugurated in January 2025. Peaceful transfer of power from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris. Backed up by the power of the U.S. Government. Stop Trump and MAGA attempts to alter or block the election results.

(4,237 posts)he's old school enough to not be able to get out of the civility mode of the old government of when we were kids. But that doesn't make me wish with all my might that he WOULD get out of his comfort zone with this. For everything T says, announce to the country what the democrats plan to do to ensure T won't be able to cheat "that x way". And then, make sure we have divided election workers, and that all rules of intimidation, signage, shirts, caps, etc that advertise or intimidate are either thrown away or taken home (and shirts changed, if need be) before they can enter the polling place. You can have a election worker walking the waiting line, informing all that fall opposed to the rules what they need to do in order to enter the polling place, and even hand out pamplets with the "rules of voting" so they see they're not being "picked on." (They'll still feel like victims, anyway... but the law IS the law, even for these people when it comes to voting.)
There are a ton of little things that the administration can do to encourage free and fair elections. Even just working up and making available federal rules and state rules for each state (working with the SOS, for example) and handing them out to everyone who lines up to vote would immediately start putting the rules into people's heads... as well as the seriousness of what they're about to do.
And then, not to be outdone by some faux-Brooks Brothers riot, make sure to have tons of constitutional lawyers on hand to dismiss or file any problems that come before them.
This election is NOT like every other election we've ever had. At best, it resembles 2016; but this even more serious than 2016. We already know T intends to rule as a dictator, with the R's by his side, lockstep. They've not only said the quiet part out loud, shouting, they managed to write the whole damn playbook for us. We have to be as serious about how WE want the country's future to be as they are. Otherwise, they'll run roughshod. And the first sight of a gun should bring the police. Period. JMNSHO!

(35,512 posts)... and steal the election for him.
That's total bullshit, and it's scaring even the Repukes. Every day, more and more Repukes are saying they won't vote for him. Some will even vote for Kamala when it comes down to it. But it boils down to the fact that every sensible, thoughtful person in this country can SEE that Chump should never be allowed back in the White House.
Chump will learn the hard way that Russia can't steal our election for him, or for anyone else.
He's done. He's toast. Get him outta here.

(4,237 posts)is a transactional process. Sometimes, there are things more important than money; more important than power; more important than "transactions." Sometimes there is love, caring, empathy, and compassion. And those things, do eventually win over greed and evil.
