Related: About this forumWe're pleased to announce that DU Journals are working again
For those who have missed them, DU Journals are now working again. For technical reasons we have revamped the Journal archive section slightly, so everyone now has a separate page showing your Journal archives, which can be accessed from the "All Journal entries" link in the right column of your Journal. (This link is not currently available on mobile, but should be soon.)
This marks the conclusion of the behind-the-scenes software update project that Elad has been wrestling with for the last few months. These updates were not optional, and although you did not see much of the effort that went into it, this was a very significant project which Elad worked extremely hard on.
We do still have some additional behind-the-scenes updates coming up next month which may require some brief downtime, but those should hopefully be dealt with relatively quickly and easily. Aside from those, we'll be moving on to other things.
During the Hearts fund drive last February, when we noted that the current state of online advertising has been causing financial problems for DU, many of you asked if we could add one or two additional fund drives during the year. Given that ad rates are still struggling -- along with the fact that some of the big tech companies are actively acting to suppress political discussion this year -- we've decided that this is a good (and necessary) idea. So in the second half of May we're going to run a new mini fund drive for a few days. I'll have more details about that nearer the time.
After that, we'll finally be free to get back to site development -- we have some ideas to work on as we move towards this fall's elections, and I daresay we might also be ready to take feature requests.
Thanks for reading!

(22,514 posts)members can gift Star Memberships to other members as part of the promotion, but that's the only time during the year that it's possible.

It looks like there are instructions to turn the bad settings off in its contents.
Just a suggestion.
Thanks to the both of you for all your great work!

(7,863 posts)I sometimes need to refer back to my past journal entries, and it would get tedious having to scroll back though any number of pages in the hope of finding what I was looking for.
The indexing by dates at least gives me a fighting chance of finding what I wanted before I give up from boredom or exhaustion.
