There was nothing wrong with Democratic Underground.
Why did that break it?
Granted, it's new to me. But it seems shittier to me in every way.
It looks shitty. Certainly shittier than the previous version.
It's shitty that my shitty journal was zapped away. My shitty journal wasn't really intended to be followed by my fellow board members. It was more to remember my favorite shitty posts that I made, that I would go back to and read when I was bored and feeling shitty.
I don't really know much about this shitty-sounding "jury" system yet, but it sounds shitty.
It sounds just like the people who made the excellent Gnome 2 desktop environment decided to turn around and turn that into the shitty Gnome 3 piece of shit from hell.
They took the perfectly fine DU 2, and for no apparent reason, turned it into a shitty piece of shit.
And part of the purpose of this group is "where the skies are so blue?"
Please excuse my language, but it seems like DU has jumped the fucking shit.

(6,996 posts)I have to say that I liked the DU2 format a lot more. The look of the old site was more inviting and user friendly.
That said I do like a number of the new features and I'm just very glad that DU is here for us.

(14,804 posts)DU3 actually seems to be okay. I don't see any major improvement from a user's perspective, but it's not really any worse either.
I guess change can be scary or at least disagreeable at first. Change takes getting used to.
And I think I've gotten used to DU3 now.
However, I still think that Gnome 3 is a disgusting heap of garbage. The Cinnamon desktop from the Linux Mint people (Clem, etc.) looks to be a promising replacement. I'm using it now, and it is improving quickly.
