AL-HD63: House District 63 special election set for Jan. 13, 2026

Alabamians living within House District 63 will be heading to the polls next year to decide who will replace Rep. Cynthia Lee Almond after her promotion to Alabama Public Service Commission president.

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey announced the official House District 63 special election dates as:

- Special primary election: Sept. 30
- Special primary runoff: Oct. 28
- Special general election: Jan. 13, 2026

“Rep. Cynthia Almond has served the people of House District 63 with integrity and purpose, and while her presence in the Legislature will be missed, I know her leadership will continue to shine as she steps into this vital statewide role,” Ivey said. “Although Representative Almond leaves big shoes to fill, I am confident that House District 63 will continue to showcase strong leadership and representation in Alabama. I encourage everyone in the district to make their vote count.”
