Democrat Doug Jones on Senate race: 'I think we're going to win'

"I think we're going to win this race," Jones said. "I've always thought that -- whether it was against Roy Moore or Luther Strange. We have the wind at our back. We believe we have the issues people care about which you have not heard any discussions about. People are concerned about health care and the economy. People want to see this state moving forward. I believe that we can do that."
"You don't have to overcome anything," Jones said. "You talk about issues. That's what people care about. At the end of the day, there are so many people who might have voted a certain way over the last couple of cycles. But at the end of the day, they are worried about their children, they are worried about their elderly parents, like I am. They're concerned about where their jobs are going to come and what's going to come into this state.
"That's what they care about more than Rs and Ds."
"I'm excited that we're finally going to get to talk more about the issues that people care about in the state: Jobs, economy, a living wage, health care - which is so important to so many people in this state," Jones said. "We have not seen much talk about those issues the last couple of months from the folks on the other side of the aisle."
"I think what it shows is dollars don't always carry the day and there are other issues people are going to be concerned about," Jones said. "As long as we can get our message out one way or another, we will have the ability to win this race. Dollars means something; you can do certain things with it.
"Obviously, it didn't carry the day for Mr. Strange. We'll see how this race plays out."
