Kent State Killings, Narrated by Rosanne Cash - Heather Cox Richardson

In May 1970, after President Nixon announced he had sent ground troops into Cambodia as part of his widening of the Vietnam War, students at universities across the country protested. On May 2nd, Ohio's governor deployed National Guard troops to keep the peace at Kent State University. Two days later, several guardsmen opened fire on student protesters. Three students, Allison Krauss, Jeffrey Miller, and Sandra Lee Shyer were killed. A fourth, William Schroeder, died later in a hospital. Nine more were wounded.

There is lots more ...

I wasn't there. But I had been protesting the war since '68.
So this event hit me pretty hard.
It still gets to me.
