Theyre Still Trying To Kill You
Published by digby on May 5, 2026
This is simply unconscionable:
The studies, which cost millions of dollars in public funds, were conducted by scientists at the agency, who worked with data firms to analyze millions of patient records. They found serious side effects to be very rare.
In October, the scientists were directed to withdraw two Covid-19 vaccine studies that had been accepted for publication in medical journals. In February, top F.D.A. officials did not sign off on submitting abstracts about studies of Shingrix, a shingles vaccine, to a major drug safety conference.
The withdrawal of the studies is the latest step by the administration to try to limit access to vaccines. It has sharply cut research funding for vaccine development, released unvetted information casting doubt on vaccines, and blocked other information supporting their safety, most recently a paper on Covid vaccine effectiveness by career scientists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Theres no need to go over the stats for the COVID vaccine. We all know it. But SHINGRIX is now on the chopping block too? My god.

Not quite sure how that fits in with his apparent "let diseases kill everybody" agenda. He's probably hoping for more mass shootings or something. Or maybe he just got overexuberant upon finding out about the Andes strain of hantavirus.

(4,594 posts)... rivals Trump's, and, though Trump has had a head start, RFK may soon surpass him numerically. Denying people access to lifesaving vaccines, and other medications he deems worthy of his mindless malice, is going to kill a LOT of people in a very short time, up to, and including, newborns not getting Vitamin K when they first enter this rapidly deteriorating world.
As I've said before, it's a shame that worm didn't stick around for dessert.

(10,313 posts)...it'll just make you wish you were dead for a while until it subsides. It can also cause serious complications like blindness, hearing loss or severe chronic nerve pain. Thankfully, the shingrix vaccine is over 90% effective in stopping it. So of course, this administration wants you to believe shingrix is dangerous (it's not) to make you suffer by not getting it.

But what do doctors think?

New research suggests the shingles vaccine may lower the risk of dementia.
This isnt the first study to link the vaccine with a lowered risk of the disease.
Doctors say this underscores the importance of getting the vaccine.
There are a slew of older adult vaccines that healthcare professionals recommend getting as you age. But theres one in particular that seems to have health benefits beyond lowering the risk of getting the illness its designed to prevent. Recent research found that the shingles vaccine may lower your risk of dementia.
A new scientific analysis published in Nature Medicine delves into the science. For the analysis, researchers looked at the healthcare records of more than 100 million patients across more than 7,000 hospitals and clinics in the U.S. between 2007 and 2023.
Researchers zeroed in on those who received the shingles vaccine and found that those who got it had a 33% lower risk of dementia compared with people who got the pneumococcal vaccine, which doesnt protect against shingles but is recommended for people in the same age group. Because people who are healthy are more likely to get vaccinated, the pneumococcal vaccine was designed to be a control.
