1. If Dems have the slimmest majority in both chambers of Congress

you can be sure that billionaires will start bribing them to vote in their favor on any bill that might take a single dime from them.

So, yes, the attitude of Democrats then should be "FU Republicans and billionaires!! We have a mandate!"

I'm afraid that too many Dems, or just enough of them, will take the bribe and give the People lip-service while stuffing their pockets with cash and voting in favor of those billionaires.

It's why I want progressive Democrats, not corporate/establishment Democrats.

The attitude Republicans have is that they a clear mandate when they ALSO have the presidency.

When they only control Congress the GOP just does everything they can to make the Democratic president fail.

They also won't consider the enormous damage the republicans have caused and that it can't be fixed in one or two terms (this time around) let alone a few months which is what many will expect because their expectations are so painfully screwed up. I imagine some things can change for the better but it is a massive heavy lift.

They have to basically repopulate the federal workforce and get them up to speed and that is going to be a heavy burden on them, though it may also be rewarding one as they accomplish their goals.
