Those are for targeting ground forces.

So, yeah, there's a good chance. I'd also bet that Gen. George gave a realistic assessment of costs and casualties, which nobody wanted to hear.

It's that he was dumped from the Guard at the rank of major because he did not show any promise of being competent to serve at higher ranks.

He not only is not a Ranger, he did not complete any of the training normally expected of infantry officers: airborne, air assault, Pathfinder, Ranger.

Not to brag but I completed Ranger training on my way to Vietnam -- Ranger Class 3-68. Best and toughest thing I ever went through except for actual ground combat. 20% of my class washed out. In Ranger school you are paired with a Ranger Buddy -- guy about the same size as you -- in case one of you gets in trouble, the other should be able to drag him out. My Ranger Buddy -- a Texas A&M grad -- was killed one month after arriving in Vietnam. On our last day of Ranger School, just before forming up to receive our Ranger tabs, we were lolling around at the Florida Ranger Camp, drinking the first beer we had seen in weeks. Someone had a camera, got a shot of my Ranger Buddy and me, arms draped around each other, toasting each other. Next to my family photos, it's the most precious thing I own.

And at age 81, I still knock out 4 X 25 push-ups twice a day. Damn near kills me but I wear my ragged old Ranger T-shirt and that gets me through.

I will . . . I really will . . . piss on Trump's grave. My 19-yr-old grandson has promised to drive me to whereever it is.

If he is now retired, his career wouldn't be jeopardized by speaking out publicly.

. . . however, these senior officers generally care too much about the institution to vent their frustrations.

But Trump's little buddies on the internet said the war was over and Iran was defenseless. Why would they need ground troops?
