(23,986 posts)He's a really good representative for our party. His defense of why he's a Democrat needs to be the party's message. Democrats fight for the little guy!

(9,187 posts)He is really good at bumper sticker phrases.
"Christian nationalism is the worship of power in the name of Christ"
"People baptize their partisanship and call that Christianity"

(8,336 posts)When Bernie went to Liberty University, he had this basic message for them as well.
to very loosely paraphrase: If you say you are THIS thing you can't vote for THAT thing.
The repukes have used their fake faith to win over the bigoted sheep in this country. Talarico is what we need to counter that and he's calm about it. That's important too.
I just wish we could have both Crocket and Talarico. They each bring good stuff.

(8,336 posts)I am like her in that I get very passionate and righteously angry. The people we need to appeal to get instantly defensive when your sarcasm kicks in. I have to stay silent at work if anyone mentions anything even vaguely political because if I open my mouth, I'm going to lose my job. It's soul killing.

(37,367 posts)I can see her in the next administration. Perhaps as Attorney General or other major office.
First we have to take back both houses of congress and President. The next election is very important to our future.
Im so happy we had two great people from Texas running. I couldnt pick between the two of them. They both belong in our government. Its going to take a lot to reverse the damage done.
We need to vote, donate and GOTV for our future.

(33 posts)I dont care about his videos. What I want to know is what is he planning to do for Black women/black families in Texas? Hope he and the Democratic Party plans on addressing black people. Stop taking our votes for granted.

(9,187 posts)We need both of Crocket and Talarico. We will watch to see how that turns out.

(33 posts)I have no problem with him winning over JC. He won YAY now what? What is his plans to address black voters? There are serious issues outside of ICE and LGBT rights that affect black Americans. Is anyone going to address those issues? Are you we going to continue with the same lazy politics of taking Black votes for granted?
My message isn't just for Talrico. Its for all who is running in 2026.

(33 posts)The problem is that not all people have time to read policy platforms.
Again I think people outside of the black community are missing the point completely. He won YAY...Now what? Dont be pissed when the Black community doesn't come out like they did during the Obama era. What are politicians doing to earn my and other black peoples votes. it 2026, we can't keep being lazy and stating..."Hey the dems are better than the republicans. so you better vote for Dems. That is NOT going to work.
I'm not trying to cause problems. I am ringing an alarm. I think people have missed the message from the 92% after the 2024 presidential election.

(9,187 posts)He is more rural and Crocket was more city.
We need them both!

(21,013 posts)Talrico campaigned on finding common ground, which is anathema to some who criticize our Party, ostensibly from the ultra left.
I used to work to elect Democrats on Staten Island and now work to elect Democrats in Nassau County.
We were happy to flip two Congressional seats blue in 2024, albeit with moderate candidates. Those are the types of Democrats who can win in our reddish-purple districts.

(28,975 posts)There an obsession with anger that's suspicious. Who does it help when everyone's emotional and angry at everything? Just say no, I say.

(20,038 posts)I wish I was able to work for his campaign this round. He's definitely someone worth the time and effort.
His message resonates with many. He definitely has my vote I just hope we can get enough Democrats to the polls (early voting!!) to offset the corruption in this state.

(13,047 posts)I am THRILLED to see him heading toward the national stage. Crockett would have been great, and I hope she goes after Cruz in 2030, but Talarico is a unique, and uniquely effective voice against Christian Nationalism, which has become the most SERIOUS threat we face today. It the destructive driving force that underlies the entire MAGA/Heritage/Theil horror show.
