Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) said he was "baffled" Monday that his Senate colleagues weren't supporting President Donald Trump's decision to begin military strikes in Iran and Democrats were furious at his comments.
The Pennsylvania Democrat's loyalty has increasingly been called into question as he has shown he was breaking with Democrats over the war in Iran, Politico reported.
"Every member in the U.S. Senate agrees we cannot allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon. Im baffled why so many are unwilling to support the only action to achieve that. Empty sloganeering vs. commitment to global security which is it?" Fetterman wrote on X.
Well, John Fetterman knows better, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries told CNN. Article I of the Constitution explicitly provides Congress with the authority to declare war. Period, full stop.

(132 posts)I am a Democratic Committeeperson here in Pennsylvania. I get to vote at our endorsement convention in February of 2028 and if Fetterman decides to run again and seeks our endorsement I will be voting NO, as will virtually all of my fellow Democratic Committeepersons on my county's Democratic Committee. Fetterman needs to be primaried and mark my words, he WILL be primaried. We've had enough of John Fetterman here in Pennsylvania.

(1,854 posts)If its true, he needs to be honest with his PA constituents and resign. He should seek medical care and rehabilitation. The job of US Senator requires much strength, stamina and intellectual acumen.
I know there are several very old senators and IMO they all need to resign.

(2,415 posts)On behalf of Republicans. That's purposeful. I think this Administration might have something on him. It's hard to imagine he's done a complete 180° for any other reason. Not even his wife is saying anything, and she probably had better polling than him. When he experienced health issues, when he had mental and emotional issues, when he insisted on wearing casual clothing, Democrats were there for him, every step of the way.
This is something else, in my opinion. Either way, he needs help and he needs to resign.
