Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIn this fog of war and chaos, never forget: there is NO REASON for any of this.
There is no reason for this war. No reason for the deaths of almost 200 schoolgirls. No reason for the deaths of 3 American service people. No reason for the deaths that will happen in the days to come.
There is no reason for the US to insult and turn our backs on our allies and trash age-old treaties that gave us influence and control and protected us and our friends.
There is no reason for the deaths of Minnesotans standing up for our most basic rights. No reason for ICE to trample our constitutional rights, jackboot through our cities, tear apart families, putting people in concentration camps where conditions sicken and sometimes kill children and old people.
There is no reason for the concentration camps being built all over our country. There are too many for them only to be intended for the poor souls ICE arrests. Those concentration camps are not just for immigrants, they're for all of us who disagree.
There is no reason for the "blue butterfly room" in the Dilly concentration camp, where young girls are isolated from the rest of the population and no one but staff is allowed access to them. We know what is going on there. And it's likely there are other "blue butterfly rooms" in other concentration camps.
There is no reason for the deaths of children from the measles and other absolutely preventable diseases. There is no reason to ditch the laws that protect us from disease and global warming. There is no reason for the deaths that will result from ditching those laws.
There is no reason why every one of us has had to pay $1700 for NOTHING. There is no reason why this imbecile needed to institute the tariffs that cost us that money. They did nothing but take money from our pockets.
There is no reason for the cuts to Medicare, SNAP, housing assistance, veterans benefits and other social services. There is no reason for the deaths that will result when people have to choose between housing and medication or food. There is no reason for the cuts to Social Security that are beginning to look more inevitable.
There is no reason why we should have to watch a pig and his acolytes stealing billions of our dollars, and doing it in plain sight. There is no reason why we needed to give billionaires yet another tax break that blows up our deficit and threatens to collapse our economy.
There is no reason for that sickness we all feel in the pits of our stomach. There is no reason for the shame we feel as we watch our country run roughshod over other countries and over our own fellow Americans, resulting in no benefit to any US citizen or any citizen of any other country.
There is no reason for any of this. None of it should have happened.

(693 posts)The 1 reason I can see is Republican greed and the greed of their orange messiah. Greed for overwhelming power and wealth. The rest of us are only here to supply them with the sweat, labor, and to provide them with their sense of superiority.

(59,213 posts)houses are packed with garbage, only these hoard money they will never live long enough to use.
Can you imaging having enough money that you could end world hunger, literally, without any detraction from the luxuries of your lifestyle, and NOT doing it?
Can you imagine how sick you have to be to do that?

It is little solace to know that billionaires will never feel joy or peace in their lives. The best they can do is fleeting happiness.
They will go to their graves never understanding that the only way to get anything out of life is by giving.
4 dead American servicemen now, Krasnov boasts, more to come. He is proud that he caused that.

(3,191 posts)Yes, there is no reason for those of us who believe in the concept of "society."
"I think we have gone through a period when too many children and people have been given to understand I have a problem, it is the Governments job to cope with it! or I have a problem, I will go and get a grant to cope with it! I am homeless, the Government must house me! and so they are casting their problems on society and who is society? There is no such thing! There are individual men and women and there are families and no government can do anything except through people and people look to themselves first."
