(25,866 posts)However, the decoupling from America has begun. After 8 years of the past 12 under an idiot, they're beginning the slow process of decoupling. It will be a painful legacy of Trump that promises a US shrunken on the world stage.

(2,585 posts)Trump has no leverage here. These are the people he just spent a year insulting. And these people all understand the very nature of 21st century warfare is changing rapidly. Why would ANYBODY buy the US products? Why pay $2M for a cruise missile when you can get more kill shots from a dozen drones costing $10,000 each?
Trump doesn't know shit about anything. He is whining for one and only one reason: Defense industry CEOs are ringing Trump's phone off the hook because nobody is buying their billion-dollar systems.

(6,325 posts)Good grief - that goof has more gall than a bladder.
Canada is right now undertaking a major expansion in self reliant defense capability including land, ships and air hardware.
Part of that I expect will be shelving the order for more F-35s in favour of the Swedish Gripen fighter. Trump will have a shit hemorrhage if that happens but so be it.
Good grief - that goof has more gall than a bladder.
