Trump has no leverage here. These are the people he just spent a year insulting. And these people all understand the very nature of 21st century warfare is changing rapidly. Why would ANYBODY buy the US products? Why pay $2M for a cruise missile when you can get more kill shots from a dozen drones costing $10,000 each?

Canada is right now undertaking a major expansion in self reliant defense capability including land, ships and air hardware.

Part of that I expect will be shelving the order for more F-35s in favour of the Swedish Gripen fighter. Trump will have a shit hemorrhage if that happens but so be it.
