He thinks out loud.
He telegraphs his intentions.
He has said that since he won in such a huge landslide, he really sees no reason to have a midterm election.
So what can he do to stop it?

(16,921 posts)Without an election, there would be no House Members and just 2/3 of the Senate remaining. The current (119th) Congress will end early in January of 2027. Would Trump seriously bother to order the current Congress members to continue? (Unconstitutional to begin with) or would he just declare Congress disbanded and himself Supreme Leader?

(26,437 posts)Everybody hears him. Some don't believe him. Some may agree with him (the MAGA's). Some are afraid he'll do just what he say he will and wants to do.
The talking heads and member of the House and Senate on the news stations are out there warning us. They're saying that this is what his intentions are and this is what will happen. They all know this threat has to be taken seriously.
BUT
What is anyone going to do about this? Are they making plans to prevent him from doing this. Are they strategizing as to how we will deal with this. Or are they just stating the obvious and saying they are helpless in stopping this.
Right now - there should be teams of lawyers, politicians, business people, American's - in meetings discussing how we are going to prevent him from doing this.
It's one thing to know it's gonna happen and we're not gonna like it. It's another thing to do everything possible within the parameters of the law and the Constitution - to prevent this.
What's it gonna be? Are we gonna let it happen to us OR are we gonna do something to prevent this?
