1. Traditional conservatives are Adam Kinzinger, Liz Cheney, Dick Cheney,

& others who have denounced what the Republican Party has become. Anyone who voted for Trump in 2024 is not conservative. Personally, I thought that about anyone who voted for him in 2016, but in 2024? There's no excuse except you're wealthy, you're cult, or you're a bigot. Fuck all of 'em.

on edit: I love Horsey & didn't realize he was still around. I have a book, "Affluenza: The All Consuming Epidemic" & that book is worth it for the Horsey cartoons alone.

2. Um...shouldn't that Trump conservative weigh, like, 400 pounds or something?

Greasy tee-shirt that his belly is spilling out of, cargo shorts, ratty sneakers on his swollen feet, venous stasis dermatitis of both legs, MAGA hat or otherwise a backwards baseball cap? David Horsey is a brilliant cartoonist; but this is a little unrealistic.

3. The reason that traditional Republicans wanted

limited government is because they already had most of the power and didn't want a government strong enough to challenge their power.

The reason that traditional Republicans wanted separation of powers was so that their corporations could divide and conquer the government.

The reason that traditional Republicans wanted rule of law was because they had written the laws to benefit themselves.

The reason that traditional Republicans wanted free speech was so that people would be free to parrot Republican talking points.

All of these reasons are still in vogue under Trump conservatives.
