Thinking about "what if".

If Russia or China tried to occupy and incorporate Greenland before Trump, I could see Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, and Biden immediately sending our military to rout the invaders. Why? Not only for military strategy, but because of the imposition of societal and governmental controls by another country. IOW, removing the autonomy and independence of the inhabits of Greenland.

Here, we have our rogue government trying to do just that. Trump has switched roles. Steal Greenland before someone else steals it.

That's not the way it works.

And the people of Greenland would be subject to U.S. laws. Paying taxes in the amount D.C. tells them and the latter spending it the way it decides, not Greenlanders.

Subject to having D.C. kick them out of their homes, possibly deporting them to God-knows-where.

Subject to laws that Greenlanders would object to, such as "socialist programs," abortion rights and birth control.

Subject to arrest, conviction, and imprisonment for opposing Trump and his administration.

We don't like it here; I'm certain Greenlanders would like it less.

2. One thing is particularly clear,

this territory grab is not about US security (the US already has ready access to Greenland for military facilities installation), it is about Greenland's natural resources (aka Iraq and Venezuela). Oh, it's also about the Epstein files and Trump's megalomania....
