When we lived in Seattle by the 1970s all
the Naval Ships that were active there had
replaced their deck guns with missiles. The only ships that had large guns were WW II left overs that were out of commission.

7. The US didn't lose any fast battleships during WWII

It lost a couple of old ones that had been tied to the pier at Pearl Harbor. The US did lose 11 aircraft carriers of all types during the conflict.
