Once the arrests start--it is going to get real sick!!
BREAKING: In a shocking moment, Karoline Leavitt admits that the Trump admin is going to arrest and imprison homeless people who refuse to be dragged off the street to a "shelter" by masked gestapo thugs.
Under trump, poverty is a jailable offense.

(29,467 posts)A goddam fascist dictatorship, thats what. Classifying undocumented immigrants as illegals was only the start, Now, those unable to keep a roof over their heads - for any reason imaginable - are being rounded up as undesirables and probably destined for some goddam concentration camp. This Froggy feels the water temp rising and is about ready to JUMP. Ive also just had a rare couple glasses wine, so my zeal is likely illusory. Yet no less real. Not necessarily breaking bad, perhaps breaking tangentially, but breaking nonetheless.

(12,496 posts)Democracy is dead in the United States. It's what Putin has always really wanted - an end to all democracy.
We are a fascist dictatorship with some capitalist features. We are no longer a fully developed capitalist economy. With Pedo Trump telling CEOs what they are allowed to do and taking money from foreign countries to line his pockets, we are clearly a fascist economy.
The midterms will be rigged and our votes will never count. What else do you expect from fascism?

Theres plenty of homeless folks whod go to a shelter if they could.
Factor in those who own pets who refuse to give them up without a fight and its going to get ugly very fast.
I guarantee you were going to see a very ugly situation within a week with a homeless pet-owning vet with serious PTSD getting abused

Wow, that's pretty much a complete one-eighty from Donald Trump's policies. It's almost as if Trump is the polar opposite of Christ. Some kind of anti-Christ, if you like.

"Jesus looked at him, loved him, and said to him, There is one thing you lack: Go, sell everything you own and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.
But the man was saddened by these words and went away in sorrow, because he had great wealth"

I kept watching Bondi's eyes yesterday while *rump was making this announcement about kicking out the homeless while condemning low income housing, but I couldn't detect any signs of life.

I know capital punishment is not popular here, but someone like her has destroyed dozens, if not hundreds or thousands of lives. She deserves to have her life taken from her, one way or another. (15,113 posts)Real Americans are White men living in single family houses making enough money to spend Sunday after church kicked back with a cold brew watching Football.
Not their possible ex's raising the kids on a cashier's wages, not the minority family a few blocks over crammed into a two bedroom apartment where everyone works but the disabled mom who just to pay the medical bills that keep her alive. Not the just out of college transplant starting out on a minimum wage job with two roommates who might be able to pay their share of the rent.
Not the elderly guy developing dementia slowly starving to death in his apartment that he still lives in because his on-site manager is kind and helps him pay his rent every month.
People who are poor, who are struggling, who aren't camera ready aren't "Real Americans", or people.
They're just meat wrappers - disposable.

A statistic.
Doesn't matter my talents, my potential, my experience. Doesn't matter if there's anything important or anything that could improve the lives of fellow Americans that depends on me or anything I affect.
I'm just one of many numbers.
I'm not bitter or anything, I just work for the Federal Government, and that was brought home pretty hard to any of us fellow government employees that might have pooh-poohed that concept on Jan 22nd, 2025.
IronLionZion
(50,849 posts)They need some enemy to attack and blame so might as well add federal workers to the list of minorities, LGBT, feminists, immigrants, etc. who aren't real. They think federal jobs are fake jobs.
The MAGA concept that certain jobs shouldn't exist and certain people shouldn't have jobs is deplorable and malicious. It has roots in their own deep insecurities and failures at life.

(866 posts)They wont allow us to have mental health history play into whether or not you can buy an assault rifle, ala the lunatic in maine who shot up that bowling alley (sounded paranoid schizophrenic to me), but wtf do i know? I only work with these patients on a daily basis. I assume people dont hear about how many of these shooters are schizophrenic, because of hippa laws. That kid, who his parents bought guns for in (michigain?) was it? He was hearing voices and they ignored it.
So we cannot possibly take away the second ammendment from people committing mass murder based on mental health, but let me take their freedom for simply existing? Nobody would trade positions with these people. You cannot imagine how hard some of these peoples lives are.
Imagine sitting in school, hearing voices tell you that you are trash and that you should kill yourself, or kill people in your family. Now imagine trying to pass a test in school, study, or do anyrhing else a child needs to do to become a productive member of society..
This is the reflections of someone with fucking empathy. Republicans are sick people

(13,330 posts)SSI is cut, HUD is cut and the social safety net is a but few shredded strings there will me more mentally ill, addicts and homeless on the street because people will not be able to go to thier addiction programs, keep a roof over thier heads with HUD or section 8, or get treatment for mental illness that makes them stable enough often to even have a job sometimes. Once the stability hud housing and various programs provided are gone All hell will break loose. People with mental illness wont have meds. Addicts wont get support and lose housing .Think ice is awful now, they will round us up in droves to be sent out to some farm to die .Last time I was without a home I was psychotic 3 times in one year. Luckily I had programs to help psych meds and the hospital. And have a place of my own I am very grateful for via HUD.
Without these programs and losing stability and my home in this fascist government I know the pressures of it all very well may send me over the edge. But with no program to help and no hospital to help no home . I will be illegally homeless caught sent to a camp or mental wharehouse or part of a concealed murder camp. I dont know. But I hope on a real revolt asap be it violent or non violent dont care as long as it is effective to remove the problem people from power and prevent this horrifying future that very well could happen to me.

(10,723 posts)Extremely small apartments for poorer people. Prices can be about $400 a month. Instead of spending so much money on war, the gov could be building micro apartments to get the poor off the streets. I cant even imagine what the rents are in DC. New Mexicos rents keep going way higher each year and the homeless camps keep growing The only way many can rent is to have 2 or more roommates.
Micro apartments in Japan have communal living spaces and communal bathrooms. Some have communal kitchens.
Just lock them up is not exactly a solution.
Trump always acts with no plans in place. Is DC making more homeless centers? I bet not.

(3,144 posts)There is no reason why they need to be relocated out of D.C. If they wanted to do that they could've set that up in D.C.. Their either going to tents in the woods or concentration camps. Not to mention it's absolutely unconstitutional to force U.S. citizens to relocate just, because their homeless. Plus not all homeless people are drug addicts either.

It is tRump who perceives the homeless to be enemies of his regime because they are unsightly.

(3,144 posts)I don't think I did. So quality tents are not homeless shelter, it's a mean to get them out of the way. Those "high quality tents came directly from Trump's mouth.
