Trump:....I was a little bothered by the fact that Zelenskyy was saying, 'I have to get constitutional approval.' I mean

well, we know Trump does not like to follow our laws--so he thinks Zelenskyy does not have to follow the Ukraine constitution!!

"Its" is the possessive form, = "of it". Using an apostrophe in that word is overextension of a general English rule, which is why people sometimes have problems with it.

Apostrophes before or after word-terminal "s" generally indicate possession, but can also indicate contraction of two words, indicating letters have been elided - "it's" = "it is".

It does make me wonder how *rump's Republican supporters in Congress, other than Cancun Cruz or his cabinet would feel if he was grabbing their wives, daughters, or granddaughters because he was rich, famous and powerful?

In the 1930s and 40s, the Soviet Union, primarily under Joseph Stalin, implemented policies that significantly impacted Ukraine, including the Holodomor famine and political purges. The Holodomor, a man-made famine in 1932-1933, resulted in the deaths of millions of Ukrainians. Additionally, the Great Purge, a period of political repression in the late 1930s, targeted Ukrainian intellectuals and political leaders. These actions, alongside forced collectivization of agriculture, had a devastating impact on Ukrainian society and culture.

Justice matters.

Wed Aug 13, 2025, 07:03 AM

under legislation introduced in 2015 under previous Ukrainian president Poroshenko, not Zelensky. It has also held regular votes to extend the period of mobilization.

So Zelensky is not acting unilaterally, and the parliament is solidly behind the current state of war.

Organizing a referendum in wartime would be all but impossible, and the results highly questionable, votes in parliament are evidently not impossible.

Since Trump is the current end of a line of Republican presidents who have seen the US Constitution as "just a piece of paper" and an archaic inconvenience to be circumvented whenever it suits them, it's no surprise that Trump takes this stance.

The fact he's as thick as pigshit and crooked as a three-dollar bill is also a significant factor.
