The Washington Post @washingtonpostBreaking news: The Trump administration is considering making a military reaction force for civil unrest that would have 600 troops remain on standby to deploy in as little as one hour, according to internal Pentagon documents reviewed by The Post.
The plan calls for 600 troops to be on standby at all times so they can deploy in as little as one hour, the documents say. They would be split into two groups of 300 and stationed at military bases in Alabama and Arizona, with purview of regions east and west of the Mississippi River, respectively.
The proposal, which has not been previously reported, represents another potential expansion of President Donald Trumps willingness to employ the armed forces on American soil. It relies on a section of U.S. Code that allows the commander in chief to circumvent limitations on the militarys use within the United States.

*Stasi (pronounced [ˈʃtaːziː], was the state security service and secret police of East Germany from 1950 to 1990. It was one of the most repressive police organisations in the world, infiltrating almost every aspect of life in East Germany, using torture, intimidation and a vast network of informants to crush dissent.
The function of the Stasi in East Germany (the GDR) resembled that of the KGB in the Soviet Union, in that it served to maintain state authority and the position of the ruling party, in this case the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). This was accomplished primarily through the use of a network of civilian informants (called unofficial collaborators) who contributed to the arrest of approximately 250,000 people in East Germany. It also had a large elite paramilitary force, the Felix Dzerzhinsky Guards Regiment, that served as its armed wing. Known as "the shield and the sword of the party", the Stasi locked up opponents of the regime. Officers tortured prisoners by isolating them, depriving them of sleep and using psychological tricks such as threatening to arrest relatives.

Top down decision making that subverts residents, voters, enforced by pointing our nation's military forces at Americans based on a total lie about fighting crime.
A clear and open repeat of every fascist, communist dictatorship in the world, right here in America.
Too many people sitting and gawking, supposing it's not about them. Will Americans stand up and defend our freedoms and rights under the Constitution?
Or will we let this cosplaying dictator do whatever he pleases to us?

(1,593 posts)"The proposal represents a major departure in how the National Guard traditionally has been used, said Lindsay P. Cohn, an associate professor of national security affairs at the U.S. Naval War College. While it is not unusual for National Guard units to be deployed for domestic emergencies within their states, including for civil disturbances, this is really strange because essentially nothing is happening, she said.
Crime is going down. We dont have major protests or civil disturbances. There is no significant resistance from states to federal immigration policies, she said. There is very little evidence anything big is likely to happen soon, said Cohn, who stressed she was speaking in her personal capacity and not reflecting her employers views.
Moreover, Cohn said, the proposal risks diverting National Guard resources that may be needed to respond to natural disasters or other emergencies.
The proposal envisions a rotation of service members from Army and Air Force National Guard units based in multiple states. Those include Alabama, Arizona, California, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Tennessee, the documents say..."
